Our app handles all the details behind the scenes, from tracking scores to updating the leaderboard. The info below is simply here to give you a feel for how everything works — but really, all you need to do is bring your paddle and play your game.

Format
Season
- Your top 7 events count toward your total XP.
- Season challenges also add to your overall XP.
Single Event
- Each event includes 7 games.
- Games are played to 11 points, win by 1.
- Format: Round Robin — you’ll play with a different partner each game.
Special Events
- Prize Events: Smaller events where the winner takes home a prize.
- Top 16 Events: Exclusive events reserved for the current top 16 XP season leaders.
- Women’s Only Events: Dedicated events for female players.
- Mixed Doubles: Set partners with 1 male and 1 female on a team.
- Set Partners: Keep the same partner throughout the round robin.
- Double Elimination tournament style: XP will be awarded depending on where players finish.
XP & Challenges
Your spot on the leaderboard is determined by the XP points you earn throughout the league. Here are the main ways to rack up XP:
- Win Games (and keep losses close!)
- Every win adds to your XP. (600 XP)
- Even in losses, keep the score tight — finishing 5–11 or better helps your XP. (Each point in a game is worth 40 XP)
- Complete Challenges
- Build a win streak.
- Earn 6 wins in a single event.
- Be crowned “Winner of the Day.”

- Specialty Shots (small points that can make a big difference in tight races)
- Lob: 15 XP
- Erne: 35 XP
- ATP: 45 XP
Movement Between Divisions
- Players may move up or down during the season based on XP and overall level of play.
- Division changes are performance-based.
- If players change divisions mid way through the season, their XP will start at 0 in the new division and the XP from the previous division will be paused.
League Rules
No-Shows
- If you fail to show up without providing notice, you may receive a temporary or permanent ban.
Cancellations
- Once an event has reached 4, 8, 12, or 16 players, you may withdraw up to 2 hours before the event starts.
- For morning events, notice must be given the night before.
- Failure to give proper notice will result in a temporary ban.
Division Adjustments
- PickleXP Admins reserve the right to move players down a division if they are unable to consistently compete at their current level.
- Examples of Division Drops include:
- Averaging 2000 XP or below.
- Winning one game or fewer across multiple events.
- Clearly playing below the level of the division.
- Scoring 40 game points or less in an event.

❓ Commonly Asked Questions
How do I know which division I should play in?
- You must have a DUPR rating equal to or higher than the division.
- Example: To join the 4.0 division, you must have at least a 4.0 DUPR.
- If you don’t have a DUPR, the highest division you can start in is 4.0.
- Once you start, you can move up or down based on your average XP.
How much does it cost?
- The Season Fee is $40. This covers entry into any PickleXP event during the season.
- Court fees are separate (or free if you’re a member of a host facility).
How long is the season?
- The league runs for 4 months: December 1 – March 31.
